Northern Paragliding was formed by Ian Currer in 1988 due to the increase in popularity of the new sport of paragliding. He had been running Northern Hang-gliding for many years previously.

Northern Paragliding Ltd is now the premier paragliding retail business in the UK with a physical shop, online store, mail order catalogue and a portfolio of importerships such as Sup'Air, U-Turn, Apco and Skywalk. We also now publish books and manufacture flight simulators.

Ian Currer (Director)
Well known as the author of Touching Cloudbase and possibly the most experienced instructor in the land, Ian is still a keen pilot of both paragliders and microlights. He started flying in 1974. He is also a watersports enthusiast and has written training manuals on Windsurfing and Kitesurfing.

 

 

Neil Cruickshank

Neil Cruickshank (Director)
Former British Team pilot and eager XC hound, Neil started paragliding in 1988. An instructor since 1990 he has amassed enormous experience in many countries and climates. Neil is webmaster and harness guru, being our liaison man with Sup'Air in France. Keen skier, sailor, sea kayaker, fly-fisher, he'll try anything at least once!
