If you have a carbon seat plate, read this ALL OWNERS OF HARNESSES WITH CARBON SEAT PLATES As a precautionary measure (due to the problem highlighted below), we strongly recommend that you carry out the following modification to your carbon plate to prevent any such abrasion from taking place. Strips of self-adhesive velcro are available free of charge for UK pilots. The tape should be applied as per the below diagram(click it to enlarge):

21 January 2007 - FFVL Safety Notice Relating to Sup'Air Harnesses with Carbon Seat Plates The following safety notice was taken from the FFVL website. The original item can be viewed (in French) at http://www.ffvl.fr/FFVL/Commission_securite/documents/?doc=602 Although pertaining to the Sup'Air Alti Randonneuse XC harness, owners of all Sup'Air harnesses equipped with carbon seat plates should check for abrasion of the leg straps where they pass around the carbon seat plate (see photo).
If any appreciable wear is discovered, please contact your dealer for further advice as to how to have the harness repaired. In the UK, we are the importer and should be contacted in the first instance. |
