'Sup'Air Altirando is ace!' John Silvester PDF Print E-mail

'Neil, it's John here' came the voice over the phone. 'I've got a problem. I need a new harness and I leave for Pakistan in 3 days!'

This was back in May and we had just had our first shipment of the new Sup'Air Altirando Airbag harnesses. I'd hung in one in the shop and had an hour soaring at Devils Dyke, not much to evaluate a harness fully, but enough to know that this was a special product.

Now, for those of you who don't know John Silvester, he is an understated para-adventurer par-excellence. He flies paragliders in places that many of us would not even consider trekking into. Lately his adventures have taken him into some of the highest and remotest mountains on earth - the Karakorum. Flights at almost 7000m and amongst the massive peaks make for stunning visuals. On one of his better known expeditions he flew tandem across Nepal. The footage gathered on that trip made the amazing film From Nowhere to the Middle of Nowhere , still one of my favourites and an incredible video diary of a truly remarkable flight.

This time he was off to explore the Hunza region in Pakistan...

So, I suggested the Altirando Airbag as being suitable because of its weight (2300g), its flexibility (it folds inside-out into a glider bag), its safety (double airbag plus light auto buckles) and its superb flying position...

>Hi Neil...

>good to hear from you,my last trip was a complete weather failure so I am even more keen for another!
>The altirando is such a brilliant harness, even after 4 hours in rodeo air there is no problem at all,
>I absolutely love all 2.3kilos of it...and would like to help promote it in any way I can.
>It also speaks volumes about your feelings for harnesses, because you really thought it was the thing to use...
>I shall listen to you first next time.
